In comparison, the EOS 6D Mark II did better in the same situation. However, the dynamic range is disappointing - images taken in bright sunlight look flat, with a lack of detail in highlights and shadows. This has greatly improved autofocus and tracking performance, with the EOS R6 now able to match and sometimes surpass Sony's real-time tracking autofocus.ΔΆ0.1 Mpx is a step down from the 26.2 Mpx pixel count of the EOS 6D Mark II and EOS RP (or 30 Mpx of the EOS R), and it's noticeable in a side-by-side comparison, although you'll have to look really close to be disappointed. The difference is in the architecture, as an improved version of Canon's proven Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus system has been incorporated into the sensor. Taking a leaf or two from the EOS 1D X Mark III's playbook, the EOS R6 inherits the same 20MP sensor resolution as the DSLR, but not quite the same sensor.
